The garbage that passes for news today

Journalist and reporters angry with President Donald Trump calling their biases and bigotries out have gone off the deep end to showcase and report on “news” that is so worthless, they never would have covered it had it been done against Barack Obama. A recent example is the moron law professors attacking Kellyanne Conway for her public statements that the Washington Post believes is “news” How far the Washington Post has fallen from its Watergate Days

By Ray Hanania

Any garbage will pass a news today in today’s biased an racist news media, including on the front pages of the Washington Post, which is supposedly the newspaper of record of national politics and government.

This week, the post has written a story about a bunch of law professors who are driven by the climate of extreme political hatred to step up the political attacks against Kellyanne Conway, who for many weeks was the effective face and voice of the administration of newly elected President Donald J. Trump.

The story was reported by the Washington Post, which is so bad that a dead fish wouldn’t want to be wrapped in it.

The headline screams “Law professors file misconduct complaint against Kellyanne Conway.” The story is based on the politically motivated hysterics of a “group” of law professors “from around the country” no less, urging the DC Bar in Washington to sanction Conway.

The crime? According to the Washington Post, which now serves as a cheap tabloid for the extreme anti-Trump left, Conway should be sanctioned for violating government ethics rules and “conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.”

What’s the evidence?

Again, according to the Washington Post, which should be renamed “The New Supermarket Tabloid National Inquirer:”

Conway made the “false statement that President Barack Obama had ‘banned’ Iraqi refugees from coming into the United States for six months following the ‘Bowling Green Massacre,’ ” and the use of her position to endorse Ivanka Trump products.

During an appearance on MSNBC on February 2, Conway had said that several Iraqis had come to American under Obama and caused the “Bowling Green Massacre,” prompting Obama to ban Iraqi refugees.

Conway apologized that she mistakenly portrayed the incident, which the news media acknowledges by saying she “might have meant” this:

Two Iraqi citizens, Mohanad Shareef Hammadi and Waad Ramadan Alwan, attempted to send weapons and money to Al Qaeda in Iraq with the goal of killing American soldiers. The two suspects were indicted by the U.S. Justice Department. The men were from Bowling Green, Kentucky. (Click here to read the Justice Department release.)

Now, years later, the pro-Obama people are playing it down. But they didn’t when it happened, and the Obama Justice Department didn’t mince words about the threat the two men posed, explaining:

“These two former Iraqi insurgents participated in terrorist activities overseas and attempted to continue providing material support to terrorists while they lived here in the United States. With today’s sentences, both men are being held accountable,” said Assistant Attorney General Monaco. “I thank the dedicated professionals in the law enforcement and intelligence communities who were responsible for this successful outcome.”

“These are experienced terrorists who willingly and enthusiastically participated in what they believed were insurgent support operations designed to harm American soldiers in Iraq,” stated U.S. Attorney Hale. “The serious crimes of both men merit lengthy punishment, and only the value of Alwan’s immediate and extensive cooperation with law enforcement justifies our recommendation of a reduced sentence for him.  Bringing these men to justice is the result of a comprehensive law enforcement effort.  The FBI agents of the Louisville Division, along with the federal and local law enforcement members of the Joint Terrorism Task Forces here in Kentucky, including the Bowling Green Police Department, and our many other partners, are to be commended.”

Rather than write the facts properly, the biased Washington Post reporters, all wanting to follow int he money-laden golden trail of Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward and their boss, Benjamin Bradlee, they wrote:

The Bowling Green massacre didn’t get covered because it didn’t happen. There has never been a terrorist attack in Bowling Green, Ky., carried out by Iraqi refugees or anyone else.

The next day, when the Washington Post and other biased newspapers including the anti-Arab Huffington Post, twisted and exaggerated the story to no ends, Conway apologized in a tweet and corrected her comment, as any professional would do.

On @hardball @NBCNews @MSNBC I meant to say “Bowling Green terrorists” as reported here: (She cited the ABC TV News reported she was referencing, partially incorrectly.)

The incident took place. But she had mischaracterized it during a live TV interview.

The “law professors” also asserted that COnway should be disciplined for promoting the fashion line of Ivanka Trump, President Trump’s daughter, another incident which has been twisted, distorted and exaggerated by a Trump-hating mainstream news media that is playing politics with facts and hypocritically holding Trump to a higher standard than they have EVER held themselves as lying journalists and news media.

In fact, Conway did not initiate the news story about Ivanka Trump, whose fashion line was being dropped by Nordstrom. She was responding to questions put to her by “reporters” at FOX News asking her opinion of what had happened.

Here is what happened.

Nordstrom announced it was pulling Ivanka Trump’s clothing fashion line from their stores.

Trump then issued a Tweet that read,

My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!

The Trump-hating “reporters” distorted the Tweet claiming it was an attack by Trump on Nordstrom in response to their decision to drop his daughter’s clothing line.

Attack? Trump saying “Ivanka has been treated so unfairly”?

Suddenly the reporters were writing “even if the Tweet was meant to intimidate” Nordstrom (in the New York Times) that statement is in and of itself unethical and biased on its face.

The news media created the assertion that Trump was “bullying” Nordstrom, but in fact that was the extent of the President’s response.

In the hours and days in which the racist and biased mainstream American news media exaggerated the controversy and fluffed it up like a balloon, it burst and Trump was forced to respond to the now numerous claims being reported by the media.

In fact, it turns out that Nordstrom had warned it’s employees that the politics of Ivanka’s presence might not be int heir best interests, issuing an internal memo attacking Trump’s immigration policies. (Click here for more info on the memo.)

THAT was played down, of course, and the media supercharged Nordstrom’s after-the-fact assertions that the decision was based on her fashion line losing money.

The news media leapfrogged over reporting about the memo and instead went right to Nordstrom’s after-the-fact assertion that the memo, that was not previously mentioned until it was exposed after the incident, had nothing to do with their decision.

Yea, right!

(Ironically, many of the Muslims and Arabs and civil rights activists who defended Nordstrom ignored the fact thatNordstrom has been showcasing products produced by illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank in violation of international law. That’s something they refuse to write about because it doesn’t fit their personal politics as American “news reporters.”)

When asked about the controversy, Conway laughingly replied — emphasis on the word replied, responded — by defending Ivanka calling her a professional and noting that many business executive who opposed Trump were attacking him but no one was making an issue of them.

Then in the context of the divisions that the Nordstrom Controversy reflected, Conway matter-of-factly said, “Go buy Ivanka’s stuff … It’s a wonderful line, I own some of it. … I’m going to give a free commercial here. Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.”

Had this been Obama promoting the GAP clothing line where he bought gifts for his daughters, as they did, the media would have ignored it. In fact, they treated Obama’s comments in the context of the humor it was offered.

Obama told a crowd of students at the University of Michigan in a March 2014 appearance, “Some of you may have seen the very attractive sweaters that I purchased for my daughters.”

“They have not worn them yet, so if they’re listening, make me feel good, just wear it one time,” he admitted, pleading with the fashionable first daughters to give their dad’s couture choices a chance.” (New York Daily News, April 3, 2014)

In fact, Obama did that often, citing African American businesses to give them a boost all the time. And no one complained because it’s not worth the time or space in news media coverage.

But when Trump’s spokeswoman did it, the biased mainstream news media turned it into a “news beat” covering it like it was a second terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and on America.

How many stories will the news media make out of this stupid letter from a group of politically motivated lawyers? Hundreds if not thousands. Not because it is news. But because it is about attacking Trump.

The mainstream American news media is not covering the Trump White House, they are laying siege to it to destroy it because that is the essence of their biased politics.
