The media’s Electoral College Vote reporting Lie

The news media jumped all over President Trump when he claimed he the biggest Electoral College win since Ronald Reagan.” Immediately, the news media jumped all over Trump saying, no, Obama got the biggest electoral vote win. But was Trump talking about all presidents, or just Republicans. Trump did better than any Republicans candidate since 1992 (25 years) and in the past six presidential elections!

Donald Trump won the presidency with 304 Electoral College votes, defeating Hillary Clinton, who received only 227 votes.

It was an amazing election result considering that every major newspaper in the country except two endorsed Hillary Clinton and also predicted that Clinton would shut-out Trump by a huge landslide margin.

Having predicted a Clinton victory for months before the actual election on November 8, 2016, the mainstream news media was embarrassed with a black eye to their reputation.

The fact is the media was stupidly biased. Their polling was pathetic and you even have to wonder if these newspaper moguls even know how to poll they were so off on their predictions.

In a press conference last week, Trump bragged about how well he did, telling reporters accurately, “I wasn’t supposed to get 222 [Electoral College votes]. They said there’s no way to get 222, 230’s impossible — 270, which you need, that was laughable. We got 306 because people came out and voted like they’ve never seen before, so that’s the way it goes,” Trump said.

The initial election results said 306 but the final tally was confirmed at 304 votes. (Trump received 306 and Clinton received 231 but when the actual voting took place, two Trump voters voted for someone else and four Clinton voters voted for someone else also.)

Trump then said, “I guess it was the biggest Electoral College win since Ronald Reagan.”

Clearly, Trump was referring to the achievement of Republicans, but the biased news media didn’t take it like that.

When a reporter interjected that Trump didn’t beat out Obama — which Trump never said — Trump responded, saying Obama was “not a Republican.” It was another indication that he was speaking about the totals achieved by Republican presidential contenders.

The fact is Trump did beat out every Republican  since President Ronald Reagan in total Electoral College Votes.

Senator John McCain’s electoral vote count was pathetic, showing how weak he was as a candidate.

Here are the facts the news media doesn’t want to report:

In 2012, Republican Mitt Romney lost the election to Barack Obama and received only 206 Electoral College Votes.

Trump beat Romney!

In 2008, Republican John McCain lost the election to Barack Obama and received only 173 Electoral College Votes, which is outstandingly pathetic and a reflection on how unpopular Senator McCain really is.

Trump beat out McCain!

In 2004,Republican George W. Bush beat out Democratic challenger John Kerry but received only 286 Electoral College votes.

Trump beat out Bush!

In 2000,Republican George W. Bush beat out Democratic challenger Al Gore but received only 271 Electoral College Votes.

Trump beat out Bush!

In 1996, Republican Robert Dole lost to Bill Clinton and received only 159 Electoral College votes.

Trump beat out Dole!

In 1992, Incumbent Republican George H.W. Bush lost to Bill Clinton and received only 168 Electoral College votes.

Trump beat out George H.W. Bush!

In 1988, the only election that Trump got wrong, Republican George H.W. Bush beat out Michael Dukakis by a whopping margin received 426 Electoral College votes, the largest of a Republican.

Trump did NOT beat out George H.W. Bush in this election!

Trump’s mistake was to say he got the largest Electoral College vote since Ronald Reagan in 1984, but in fact he got the largest Republican Electoral College vote since George H.W. Bush’s first election in 1992, 25 years ago!

In other words, despite the lying exaggerations of the mainstream news media, Trump did far better than they ever predicted or expected, and he did far better than the Republican’s Party candidates int he past 25 years since George H.W. Bush’s first election.

Trump did better than ANY REPUBLICAN in the past six presidential elections!

That’s not an achievement?

Had Obama made a similar claim, the sympathetically biased mainstream news media would have helped him explain it. But they won’t help Trump explain it because the mainstream news media is a political organization today driven not by providing accurate news and information, but by providing subjective, hate-driven spin.
